Kat's Crafty Creations

Taking some time to get a little crafty

Snow man… well almost

I decided at the very last minute that I was going to make a snowman for my husband. This is the almost finished result.

It’s missing coal buttons and a mouth. I may even redo the scarf, since it doesn’t really go, even though I really like it.  He of course also needs a mouth.  I love that hat.  Wish I could find an adult pattern, although I don’t know if I would truthfully be brave enough to wear it.

the almost snow man...

the almost snow man…

As I don’t imagine that I will be getting back on here anytime soon, I wish anyone who pops on by a Merry Christmas!

Coffee Cup

Spent some time working on a new project today. I have a sudden interest in crocheting amigurumi, which lead to the purchase of a coffee/tea cup pattern. I picked this really pretty pink color that I love and haven’t had a chance to use yet.

I was very excited to get started on the pattern and got this far at work.

Then I came home and wrapped up. This is my final product and I hate it! Ugh. Well all I can say is practice, practice practice.

Pumpkin pincushion

Another pattern that I picked up from ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-pumpkin-pincushion.

This is an extremely easy pincushion and lovely little pumpkin to crochet together. I made this particular one for my husband and will be making another for one of my nieces. I have other color yarn that I plan to use for a couple that I plan to use for decorations for work. The ones that I am making for myself are more rustic.

I want to make a turkey next to gear up for Thanksgiving and am on the look out for a pattern that I like. I’ve been searching around Ravelry as well as Craftsy and have seen a couple that peek my interest. Ideally I like a free pattern because I can at least read it immediately to determine if I think I can do it. I will of course pay for a pattern also, if I think it’s something that I am looking for.
Well I am off to make another pumpkin and somewhere in there I am going to squeeze in some yoga.

Rosey Baby Blanket

This is a baby blanket that I made some time ago and am finally able to show the pictures since I finally uploaded the pictures to my computer. The pattern came from Bernat http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=178

Crocodile Stitch Baby Blanket

Although I have yet to get the ribbon, this is the 98% final product (can I really call it that). This was a record breaking project for me. I thought for sure that it would take a lot longer, but thank goodness it didn’t.

I picked up the project from:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocodile-stitch-baby-blanket.  I was feeling adventurous when I picked out the pattern and was expecting to get greatly frustrated with it.  Then I remembered that YouTube was a great resource for learning and looked up the stitch. Next thing I know I am a month on and finished. I can’t believe how much quicker I am getting. It’s a true testament to patience and learning.

Pumpkins… Preproduction

Because it’s not enough that I spent a pretty penny last weekend at Joann Fabric, I was back again today buying even more yarn because I want to make pumpkins. Here are a couple of shots of my purchases.

The lower batch are from the Vanna White Lion Brand line and the top ones Red Heart Super Saver.  Hopefully I can get started tomorrow and will post some pics.
