Kat's Crafty Creations

Taking some time to get a little crafty

It’s Time to Clap!

I’ve been absent for a while, busy working on a bunch of different projects.  While I am still working through them, yes there are two;  I did finish one of them.

Below is a picture.  It worked up very quickly which was great, because cross stitch patterns can get tiring, if you aren’t patient.  Which I am not.  I am really happy with it, and gifted it to my boss.  A strange gift I know, but I thought that it was pretty funny.

Can’t all be Princesses

This guy has some pretty funny and fun cross stitch patterns.  I want to buy a ton more and plan to after the new year.

Double the Projects, double the fun!

I’m currently working on two patterns at the same time. One is a gift for my husband, the other a winter coutdown from this site: http://meylah.com/thefrostedpumpkinstitchery/its-a-kawaii-winter-wonderland-countdown-sign-ups.

I am working it up on 28 count linen, which is the first time I have done any type of project on this fabric, and while I feel as though it’s not completely right, I do think that the pattern is so distractingly cute, that I don’t care.

Here are a couple pictures of my progress.

figuring out how to stitch on linen

It’s a lot less intimidating than it looks for those first timers, it says to count in 2’s, but I don’t think that I’ve been doing that. I’ve been working in a grid of 3, if that makes sense. I constantly wonder if I should have done a grid of 4, but then I think that it would have come out too big.

Day 1…

The beginnings of day two… I really love how everything works up on this fabric. I may have turned a corner and use this type of fabric for all my cross stitch patterns. I just feel like I really need to understand the correct way to work on it.

I find my pre-owl to be very cute, so while not a picture that necessarily needs sharing, I think to myself, why not!

and of course the finished owl… I would love to make this owl on it’s own. It’s super adorable

I would love to share pictures of the other project that I am working on, but I don’t want to run the risk of my husband taking the time to find my blog and then seeing what I’m making.

Thanks as always for popping in and checking out my post!
